The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 places a duty on employers to assess and appropriately control any risk of employee ill-health arising from exposure to a hazardous substance.
D&F Associates will deliver a monitoring strategy inline with Health and Safety Executive Method for the Determination of Hazardous Substances 14/4: General Methods for Sampling and Gravimetric Analysis of Respirable, Thoracic and Inhalable Aerosols.
With our experienced field team and in-house gravimetric analysis equipment, D&F Associates can tailor a sampling strategy to suit any occupational dust sampling requirement. All results from occupational dust samplers are calculated as an 8-hour Time Weighted Average and compared against current Workplace Exposure Limits.
All results are presented in a clear and easy to understand fully interpreted report.
D&F Associates also offer ‘real-time’ dust monitoring capability. An ‘Osiris’ automated laser photometer measures inhalable, thoracic and respirable suspended particulates using light scattering technology to quantify and record particulate matter in real-time. This can be particularly useful to identify short term high intensity dust generating activities or to gather emission data for long term studies.
